Grab your bike and cycle around 10kms out of Luang Prabang to the picturesque countryside village of Ban Laksip. You’ll pass pineapple farms, rice paddies and villagers going about their daily business. Make sure you stop to take photos as the scenery here is gorgeous.
Continue for about another 10kms to reach the village of Ban Pik. Meet the locals for a chat and hear stories of their daily life tending to their crops and animals as well as tales of panning for gold in the river. The next stop is Keng Noun, where a picnic lunch is set on the banks of the Khan. From here cycle to the nearby village of Ban Phanom, known for its artisanal silk and cotton production, and then to Ban Xang Khong village, where traditional Sa paper is produced on century old wooden looms.
The final leg of the journey is a 5km ride to Luang Prabang, bringing your daily tally to 35kms – nice work! You’ll arrive at your hotel by late afternoon, just in time for a shower and a few sunset drinks.
